Anne has been working in the veterinary industry since 1989, qualifying in 1995 before embarking onto a 14-year lecturing/examiner career with Moulton College, Australian Veterinary Nursing Resource Centre, College of Animal Welfare/Napier University and Barony College (now SRUC).
Veterinary Nursing experience has included both first opinion and referral work with a keen interest towards all aspects of Veterinary Nursing, committed to ongoing student/staff mentoring, teaching, learning and support. Key topics for Anne include: team health and mental well-being, team dynamics and appraisal, infection control, health and safety, moral and ethical issues, surgical nursing , nursing care plans/holistic nursing care, critical nursing care and veterinary diagnostics. Now as a member of the IVC Nurse Committee Anne's aim is to help promote CPD for both qualified / training veterinary staff and is currently working as the Head Nurse at Aberdeen Veterinary Referrals (AVR) with a team of 17 x SVN's, 10 x RVN,s, 8 x VS's, 5 x support staff, 2 x VCA's, and 1 x instrument technician - so a team of up to 43 persons; give or take a few extra EMS students during the year too to accommodate for from UK veterinary schools and as part of the Erasmus international veterinary training programme.
Anne is dedicated to the future advances within the veterinary industry as a whole as well as towards the professional standing of the veterinary nursing profession.
